No — absolutely not. Your entries are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Sync (an OPUS Pro feature), they live exclusively in your personal iCloud account. Tipsy Pixel has no server that stores your content and no way to access it at any point.
iCloud Sync is available to OPUS Pro subscribers. Once you have an active Pro subscription, navigate to Settings → Preferences → iCloud Sync and toggle it on. Your entries will begin syncing across all devices signed into the same Apple ID.
On free plan? You can still keep your entries safe by exporting to PDF at any time — see How do I export my journal entries? below.
Yes. Deleted entries go to the Recycle Bin rather than disappearing immediately. Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Recycle Bin, find the entry, and tap Restore. Entries in the Recycle Bin are permanently erased after 30 days.
If you're on OPUS Pro with iCloud Sync enabled, you can also go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Backup & Restore to pull your journal back from a previous iCloud snapshot — useful if you need to recover several entries at once.
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Journal. You'll see three options:
Single Entry — export any one entry as a PDF. Available to all users.
Date Range — export a custom date window. Free users can select up to 30 days; OPUS Pro unlocks unlimited date ranges.
All Entries — exports your complete journal as a single PDF. PRO only.
Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Passcode Lock and follow the setup steps. Once enabled, OPUS locks automatically when you leave the app and prompts for your passcode — or Face ID / Touch ID — when you return.
Tap "Forgot Passcode?" on the lock screen, then verify with Face ID or your iPhone passcode. Your passcode will be permanently removed and your entries will not be affected. You can set a new one anytime in Settings → Data & Privacy.
Open OPUS and go to Settings → OPUS Pro. On the subscription screen, tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID you used when you first subscribed. Restoration is instant and completely free — no need to contact us.
All subscriptions are managed by Apple. Go to iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → OPUS and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. For refund requests, please use Apple's Report a Problem page — we're not able to issue refunds directly.
Go to Settings → Reminders and toggle Get Reminders on. You can set the exact time, choose which days of the week to repeat, and also enable Streak Reminders (free) or Weekly Review and Motivational Quotes PRO. All reminders are local notifications — nothing is sent to our servers.
From the Home tab, tap Switch on the Theme Identity Band — or go to Settings → Theme. Some themes are exclusive to OPUS Pro. Switching themes never deletes your existing entries; everything is preserved and remains visible in the Calendar view regardless of which theme is active.
Streaks are calculated by calendar day in your local timezone. An entry saved just after midnight counts toward the new day, not the one before it. If the timing checks out and the streak still reset incorrectly, email us with the relevant dates and we'll look into it for you.
The free version of OPUS gives you unlimited entries, all core journaling features, a daily writing prompt, mood tracking, streak counting, streak reminders, and single-entry PDF export.
OPUS Pro adds: all 5 journal themes, iCloud Sync across devices, advanced analytics, unlimited PDF export (date range and full journal), weekly review notifications, motivational quote reminders, and priority support.
Getting the Most from OPUS
Lock your journal
Enable the passcode in Settings → Data & Privacy. Face ID means one glance to unlock — there's really no reason not to.
Export regularly
Free users: go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Journal and save a PDF. It's your writing — keep a copy outside the app.
Let the theme write first
When you're stuck, use the daily prompt on the Home tab. Each theme has its own set — switch themes to get a fresh perspective.
Swipe to delete entries
In the Calendar view, swipe an entry card left to reveal the delete button. Deleted entries land in the Recycle Bin, not the void.
